Financial Investments, Inc. Advisory Board

Financial Investments, Inc. (FII), has retained an Advisory Board to act as an external steering committee. The role of this board is to provide outside council regarding the overall direction of FII and help it to realize its true value. This includes:

  • Strategic planning and direction
  • Industry and community presence, including raising capital
  • Visionary guidance
  • Guidance with avoiding issues and solving problems

The two key members of the Advisory Board are Michael N. Pocalyko, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Monticello Capital, and Jack Crowley, Co-Chairman & CEO of Chesapeake Partners, Inc.

Michael N. PocalykoMichael N. Pocalyko

Michael N. Pocalyko is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Monticello Capital, an investment banking firm in Reston, Virginia that advises high growth companies in advanced technology industries.

Mr. Pocalyko founded Monticello Capital in 1997. A financial entrepreneur, international economist, and experienced leader of high-performance teams, he is best known for his work in mergers and acquisitions, on corporate boards, and in international transactions. His professional focus is typically in advanced technology manufacturing, information technology, biomedicine, and aerospace. He has been chairman, founder, or advisor to corporations throughout the US, European Union, and Middle East. He has also been a corporate director in the financial services, medical, biotechnology, Internet services, steel, environmental, and engineering services industries. Mr. Pocalyko has also been a university trustee.

Currently on the board of Monticello Capital, the advisory board of Financial Investments, Inc. (Herndon, Virginia), and nominee chairman of start-up TherimuneX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Philadelphia) he is also on the executive board of the National Capital Area Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Pocalyko was a Navy commander who served in Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, and on the personal staff of the Secretary of the Navy. He was a Senior Fellow of the Atlantic Council of the United States. He twice commanded military operational units and as a Navy pilot flew in Beirut, Lebanon and the Persian Gulf.

A 1976 graduate of Muhlenberg College, Mr. Pocalyko earned an M.P.A. from the Harvard Kennedy School and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, the International Institute for Strategic Studies, the Metropolitan Club in Manhattan, and the Tower Club in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

As a Virginia public official he served appointed terms on the Commonwealth Competition Council and the Fairfax County Industrial Development Authority. He was once a candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates. A native of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and at one-time a union steelworker, Mr. Pocalyko is an extensively published writer. He has been married since 1976 to Barbara Snelbaker Pocalyko, a certified public accountant who chaired the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Accountancy. Mr. and Mrs. Pocalyko are the parents of two grown children, a son and a daughter.

Jack CrowleyJack Crowley

Jack Crowley is Co-Chairman and CEO of Chesapeake Partners, Inc., a firm providing Strategic Business Advisory Services to Fortune 500 Companies, mid-market enterprises and investor groups seeking to improve the performance of business units and investments or to diversify or restructure their portfolios. Chesapeake also provides merger and acquisition support and co-sponsors transaction opportunities with various equity and debt partners.

He is a seasoned business executive with a successful track record spanning more than 25 years in leadership positions growing large corporations, professional services firms, mid-market technology enterprises and working with international investors to restructure and optimize businesses and investments. Mr. Crowley’s industry experience extends across telecommunications, systems integration and IT services, healthcare, and government services.

Prior to co-founding Chesapeake, Mr. Crowley was Vice President for Global Partnerships and Alliances at AT&T Corporation, a division that he founded. There, he successfully built highly strategic business partnerships and launched value added go-to-market initiatives. Prior to AT&T, Mr. Crowley was a Director and Vice President at MCI where he successfully launched its Strategic Ventures and Alliances Group. He also held positions as Chief Marketing Officer for MCI Wireless and oversaw marketing for MCI’s Special Markets unit. During his wireless tenure, Mr. Crowley opened 80 markets for MCI, participated in successful acquisitions, and helped grow revenues to more than $1.5B.

Before joining MCI, he held various consulting and leadership positions including Chief Operations Officer of a privately-held computer technology firm. Mr. Crowley is a former senior consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ New York City Practice Group.

He is a graduate of the Georgetown University McDonough School of Business.

Mr. Crowley is a member of the Potomac Officers Club, a non-profit organization of “C-level” executives from various industries. He is also a member of the Metropolitan Area Wounded Warriors Committee and involved in other non-profit entities.
